“It was like this also in the case of Mary’s son Jesus (blessing and peace be upon him). The Jews [al-Yahud] were eager to put him to death, because they became envious of him when marvelous signs [ayat] and miracles [mu’jizat] were manifested through his agency. Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) therefore instructed that he should leave his native country and go to the land of Egypt, and so he set out on the journey. He was only thirteen years of age at the time when some of his close relatives took him and helped him to escape. His influence grew strong in that country, and his reputation spread far and wide, so certain people conspired to destroy him, but they were incapable of carrying out their plot and Allah was Triumphant [Ghalib] in His undertaking.” [The Removal of Cares (Jala’ al-Khawatir): Shaikh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani.
