The Muhammadan Reality: Nine Aspects of Muhammad

The Unmanifested Muhammad:  The name Allah gives to the Nur.  The Unmanifested is the beginningless beginning, the time of profound silence, when nothing had been manifested and Allah existed as Himself, with the Nur, as yet unmanifested, within Him.

The Manifested Muhammad: The primal beginning, when the essence [dhat] of Allah emerged from Him.  When His essence attained His beauty and came forth from Him, Allah caused it to appear as a light.  The light He caused to appear was as His own Praise [Muham], and He gave it the name Muhammad.  This is the Manifested Muhammad.

Awwal Muhammad: The Beginning.  Awwal is the beginning, the emergence of creation.  At this time Allah gave to the light of the Nur the name Awwal Muhammad.

Hayat Muhammad: The Eternal.  The ruh [soul, or life] which exists forever; the truth which never dies.

Anna Muhammad: The Nourishment.  Anna Muhammad comes as food and nourishment to each life.  It is the beauty that is Allah’s grace, the nourishment of His grace.  For hayat, or eternal life, Anna Muhammad comes to the heart and the face as the nourishment which is Allah’s beauty.  The sole nourishment for the soul of man, or hayat, is the beauty of Allah, which comes from His light in the form of atoms of His grace.  Anna Muhammad comes as the nourishment related to earth, fire, water, air, and ether.

Qalb Muhammad: The Heart.  The light of the beauty of Allah’s essence [dhat], which is the inner heart, called Qalb.

Nur Muhammad: The Plenitude.  The light which became complete within Allah and then emerged from within Him.  The beauty and the light of Allah’s three thousand gracious qualities; the light of His benevolent qualities of patience; the radiance of Allah’s essence, of dhat, which shines within the resplendence of His truth.  It was the light of Muhammad called Nur Muhammad that was impressed upon the forehead of Adam [alaihi salam].  Of the nine aspects of Muhammad, Nur Muhammad is the aspect of wisdom.

Allah Muhammad:  The light of Allah within Muhammad and the light of Muhammad within Allah.  The name that Allah gives to Muhammad when the limitless resplendent Nur once again sees the Perfection, Allah, from which it originally emerged.  Having come forth from that Perfection, and manifested all of creation, that light once again lost itself in that orginal source.  What is called Muhammad is a vessel through which Allah can be recognized and from within which He speaks.  Of the nine aspects of Muhammad, Allah Muhammad is the hightest.

Muhammad: Muhammad is completly merged in Allah, existing only as a vehicle for the manifestation of His essence and attributes.  Only the pretext of Muhammad’s [sallallahu alaihi wa sallam] form is there, because Allah is formless, the form of Muhammad [sallallahu alaihi wa sallam] appears to exist so that the perfect beauty and grace of the Invisible and Indescribable can be recognized.
