Deputy of Mawlana Shaykh Nazim al-Qubrusi. Initiated by the Masters of Wisdom – Khwajagan

1971 BBC Interview with Sayed Idrees Shah on the role Sufis can play in society

“You need to be seen among the people as no different from the rest.”-Mawlana ‘Abd al-Rahman Jami

Pat Williams (interviewer): “Am I right in thinking it is a Sufi claim that they are extremely able people in every day life? You your self I think can make good this claim, you have virtually three full-time careers, and what you have done in any one of them, would be to many people a respectable lifetime’s achievement…”

Idrees Shah: “A well known Sufi was asked, what is invisibility?…to the man of the world, visibility means that you are looking like someone or something that he expects you to resemble.  If you look different, your true nature becomes invisible to him”.
